Applied COP 8: Character Design

For the main character who will present the animation i wanted him to be ambiguous but noticeable, with only one defining feature which would be a head in the shape of either a monitor or a camera. This was influenced by a Japanese anti piracy ad shown below.
I love the detached feeling that you get from this character, making you feel like an outsider, yet the ad itself gets the message across. I wanted a character that would do this for my animation.
I started off with practicing with posture to see how my character held himself and ended up just refining a standard straight standing up pose.
I tried a few ideas for clothing, wanting to keep it plain i tried a robe but it looked to spiritual, in the end tee shirt and dark jeans seemed to work best.
I also thought an emoji face would add a nice unique twist that might be appreciated by people interested in finding out what auteur theory is and examples of it.
i also sketched out the paths that the arms and legs would go on for a walking sequence just to help myself later on.
