Applied COP 9 : Background Design

For the background design i decided to keep it simple, i got some still from famous films by the directors and removed the actors. These will simply be the background as the character speaks.

For Tarantino i struggled a bit because he doesn't have much unique in the set design department as he mostly focuses on camera angles, gory FX and character interaction so in the end i chose the scene from the diner in Pulp fiction as i felt it would be most recognisable.

For Tim Burton i chose a scene from the corpse bride, i chose it because it showed the gothic style and darker colder colours that tim burton usually goes for. This background doesn't show the wonkiness of a lot of Burtons sets but i feel like the point gets illustrated later on.

For Wes Anderson i wanted to use the Belafonte cut in half shot, as i feel it really shows Wes' composition and colour of his shots and i felt that this shot would fit the best to illustrate my points.

For Edgar Wright i chose the Winchester pub from Shaun of the Dead as the theme of pubs goes throughout the Cornetto trilogy. Though English pubs don't appear in all of Wrights films, i feel that this would be the most recognisable aspect.

And finally for Michael Bay i chose a desert scene, since i intend for the Bay section to only be a joke i didn't put as much thought into this shot as it wont be seen for very long.
